All students who participated in the Summer Success Program can now earn CCR recognition!
In Summer 2026 the Teaching and Learning Commons' Academic Success and Learning Services launched a new Summer Success Program for incoming students. Through peer-facilitated workshops, students built foundational skills in Biology, Chemistry, and Physics, with a special focus on the math preparation required for success in these classes. Students can earn official CCR recognition through continued participation in eligible Teaching and Learning Commons programs during the academic year, and will receive a $99 UC San Diego Bookstore gift card upon completion.

Which activities count for validation?
The opportunity to earn official recognition on the Co-Curricular Record (CCR) is open to any incoming UCSD student who participated in the Summer Success Program (20 hours), and completes 10 additional hours of involvement across the Teaching and Learning Commons activities listed below.
Your participation in will be automatically tracked by the Teaching and Learning Commons when you sign in or register for events.
REQUIRED ACTIVITIES (20 hours):
- Summer Success Program (participation automatically tracked)
ADDITIONAL ACTIVITIES (10 hours):
- Supplemental Instruction Sessions (1-10 hours)
- Content Tutoring Sessions (1-10 hours)
- Undergraduate Writing Services (1-10 hours)
- Experiential Learning Workshops (1-5 hours)
- Experiential Learning Showcase (1-5 hours)
Please Note: CCR remaining hours are credited based on the actual length of each session. Students can complete their remaining CCR hours by attending the following:
- Supplemental Instruction (SI): Each session is 80 minutes.
- Content Tutoring (CT): Appointments are available in 30-minute and 45-minute increments. Students may book back-to-back appointments for additional support time.
- Writing Services: Consultations are 30 minutes long, and students may book 2 back-to-back appointments when available for additional time.
We encourage students to use the services that best support their coursework!
What is the validation timeline?
FALL QUARTER 2026:
- All Summer Success Program participants will automatically have the CCR position added to their record with a "Pending" status, which allows everyone to stay up to date on involvement opportunities.
WINTER QUARTER 2027:
- Continue participating in Teaching and Learning Commons programming!
SPRING QUARTER 2027:
- All students who complete the remaining 10-hour participation requirement will be automatically be updated to "Approved" status by the Teaching and Learning Commons team after June 30th, 2027.
