AIP Checklists
Students interested in applying to AIP are most successful if they plan in advance. The checklists are meant to serve as a guide to provide details on what is required before applying to AIP, the application process itself, what to keep in mind while enrolled in AIP, and what the next steps are to ensure academic credit is received once the course has concluded.
Additionally, while the checklists provide a general overview, you will also find more in-depth guides within each step as well.

Applying to AIP
Once a student has secured their internship and reviewed the course details for AIP, they can begin the application process:
- Connect with a Faculty Advisor
- Submit a Learning Agreement
- Submit an enrollment request via an EASy Request
Note: International students interested in enrolling in AIP for a Curricular Practical Training (CPT) requirement will need to submit an application for CPT after they have enrolled in the course.
During AIP
Once a student is enrolled in an AIP course, there are a few tasks to keep in mind to make the most your internship experience and ensure you receive credit for AIP.
- Communicate with your Faculty Advisor regularly
- Check the AIP Canvas course for updates and reminders
- Report your hours in InternLink (detailed information in the AIP Canvas site)

Students interested in continuing their internship at the same site and taking AIP again should contact AIP staff and create a new Learning Agreement. Students may do up to three AIP internships (and may not exceed a total of 16 units of AIP).
After completing AIP
Once your final deliverable is submitted and your AIP course has concluded, remember to complete the following:
- Check to ensure you have received a grade for your AIP course
- If you have not received a grade for the course, a completed grade report from your Faculty Advisor and/or a final evaluation from your Internship Supervisor may be pending. Please contact AIP through the VAC with your specific situation.
